“NOT AFRAID” RYAN FAZIO’S COURAGE CRUMBLES ONE DAY LATER
One Day After Calling Housing an “Important Component” of Tackling Affordability, Fazio Ducks Commenting on Trump Housing Bill Tantrum
“We need a vision, a balanced approach for the future to make housing affordable, to make the state affordable, and to allow families to thrive. Housing is an important component of that.”
That was what Ryan Fazio said yesterday.
“I'm not afraid, and I think that the residents of this state want leaders who are willing to stand up and speak up, not just when it's election time,” Fazio said.
Again, less than 24 hours ago.
But then Donald Trump took to Truth Social to say he will not sign the 21st Century ROAD to Housing Bill “in PROTEST over the fact that the United States Senate is not capable of passing THE SAVE AMERICA ACT,” and Ryan went silent.
Over 79% of American voters say that the cost of housing is a “very or extremely important” issue, and Congress passed the bill with overwhelming bipartisan majorities — 385-32 in the House and 85-5 in the Senate.
But Donald Trump called the bill a “big yawn” and would rather throw a tantrum on his divisive anti-voting rights bill than sign a critical piece of bipartisan legislation.
And the supposedly “not afraid” Fazio is nowhere to be found.
Does Fazio support his party leader’s efforts to delay critical legislation on an issue he called important one day ago?
Does he support the SAVE Act, which would jeopardize voting rights for millions of American voters?
Nobody knows!
Ryan Fazio originally spent the primary proudly sharing his support for Trump, saying he “would love the President’s endorsement” and that he has “a great deal of respect for his public service and his willingness to step up.”
But now that he is the nominee, Fazio generally refuses to acknowledge the existence of Donald Trump, failing to comment even once on Trump’s endless war with Iran and quietly cheering as his “Big Beautiful Bill” rips healthcare away from 22,000 Connecticut residents.
Statement from CT Dems Spokesperson Ian Clarke:
“Yesterday, Ryan Fazio was talking about his political courage and how housing was a major issue for him. But one day later, he saw his shadow, and Quiet Ryan is back – all because he can’t afford to comment on Donald Trump’s tantrum. Behind all of his talking points, Fazio has the political backbone of a wet paper straw.
Connecticut families are being crushed by the financial cost of Trump’s incompetence, and Fazio is refusing to comment because it might cost him a pat on the head.”
