Himes to Celebrate School-Based Community Health Center Opening, Visit Federally-Funded Marine Science Program

Bridgeport, CT – Tomorrow, March 10th, at 9:00 AM, Congressman Jim Himes will attend the ribbon cutting ceremony for Kendall College and Career Academy's school-based health and wellness center in Norwalk. Operated by Norwalk Community Health Center, the school-based clinic at Kendall College and Career Academy will be the first established in a Norwalk elementary school and will be the third such health center in the district.

THEN, at 11:00 AM, Congressman Himes will visit Jefferson Elementary School in Norwalk to learn about Norwalk Public Schools' newly established Marine Science Pathways program, a K-12 science initiative created in partnership with The Maritime Aquarium to increase marine science educational opportunities for students. There, he will tour a marine science labratory, hear from curriculum instructors, and speak with students about their experience in the program. The Marine Science Pathways program was made possible, in part, thanks to $1.3 million in federal community project funding secured by Congressman Himes in Fiscal Year 2023.
