TODAY: Secretary of the State Stephanie Thomas, Hartford Mayor Arunan Arulampalam to Promote Early Voting at City Hall

 

HARTFORD — Connecticut Secretary of the State Stephanie Thomas and Hartford Mayor Arunan Arulampalam will hold an event Thursday at Hartford City Hall to encourage eligible primary voters to check their information, make a plan, and take advantage of one of the three remaining opportunities to vote: in-person Early Voting, absentee ballot, and in-person voting on Primary Day.

 

The Mayor and Secretary will be joined by a registrar of voters for the City of Hartford, who will explain where and how residents can vote. Following brief remarks and media questions, Mayor Arulampalam will cast his ballot during Early Voting.

 

WHO: Connecticut Secretary of the State Stephanie Thomas, Hartford Mayor Arunan Arulampalam, Hartford Registrar of Voters.

 

WHEN: Thursday, August 6, at 12:00 p.m. Media are encouraged to arrive by 11:45 a.m.

 

WHERE: Hartford City Hall, 550 Main Street, Hartford, Connecticut.

 

MEDIA OPPORTUNITIES:  Secretary Thomas, Mayor Arulampalam, and Hartford election officials and poll workers; Mayor Arulampalam checking in for Early Voting and casting his ballot; Early Voting signage and activity. Media may record inside the voting location under the moderator’s direction, but must not capture marked ballots, voter selections, or private voter information.

 

BACKGROUND: Early Voting continues through Sunday, August 9.

 

  • Thursday, August 6: 8 a.m.–8 p.m.
  • Friday, August 7: 10 a.m.–6 p.m.
  • Saturday, August 8: 10 a.m.–6 p.m.
  • Sunday, August 9: 10 a.m.–6 p.m.

 

Primary Day is Tuesday, August 11, with polls open from 6 a.m.–8 p.m.

 

Voters can check their registration, party enrollment, voting location and hours at MyVote.CT.gov.
