West Hartford, CT — In a recent viral interview, Timothée Chalamet joked that he didn’t want to work in ballet or opera, art forms where people are trying to “keep this thing alive… even though no one cares about this thing anymore.” At New England Ballet Theatre, the response is simple: We care. And so do our audiences.
This Saturday, March 14 at 7:30 PM, NEBT presents Ballet Unbound, an evening of bold new choreography at Hoffman Auditorium at the University of Saint Joseph. To celebrate the conversation around the performing arts, and to invite new audiences to experience ballet live, NEBT is offering 10% off tickets with the code CHALAMET10, valid through Friday.
“Ballet isn’t a museum piece,” said NEBT Artistic & Executive Director Rachael Gnatowski. “It’s a living art form created by artists today, for audiences today. If people think no one cares about ballet anymore, we invite them to come see what’s happening on stage.”
Ballet Unbound is NEBT’s signature contemporary program, featuring world premiere works by emerging and established choreographers pushing ballet forward.
The evening includes:
● A new work by guest choreographer Julia Antinozzi, a Connecticut native and one of Dance Magazine’s “25 to Watch.”
● A premiere by Young Choreographer Award recipient Juliana Godlewski.
● A new ballet by NEBT Artistic Director Rachael Gnatowski.
Together, these works showcase ballet as it exists today — innovative, expressive, and evolving.
