NARAL Pro-Choice Connecticut to release report on anti-abortion crisis pregnancy centers in Connecticut

Hartford, Connecticut — On Monday, June 15, NARAL Pro-Choice Connecticut will hold a press conference to announce the release of its investigative report on crisis pregnancy centers in Connecticut. Crisis pregnancy centers, or CPCs, are anti-abortion organizations that masquerade as comprehensive reproductive health clinics in order to discourage women from considering their full range of reproductive healthcare options, including abortion and birth control. The report, “The Right to Lie: Crisis Pregnancy Centers in Connecticut” documents the results of a two-year investigation that revealed a consistent pattern of misinformation, deceptive advertising, and blatant lies about reproductive health by CPCs. 

Speakers will include U.S. Senator Richard Blumenthal, Stacy Missari, PhD, NARAL Pro-Choice Connecticut Foundation Board Chair, Carolyn Treiss, Executive Director of the Permanent Commission on the Status of Women, and State Representative Matt Lesser. Speakers will share key report findings and discuss their implications for women’s reproductive health in Connecticut.
