STATE REPRESENTATIVE JASON DOUCETTE TO BE JOINED BY TAX EQUITY CAUCUS, ADVOCATES TO HIGHLIGHT LEGISLATIVE PRIORITIES 

 

State Representative Jason Doucette, House Chair of the Banking Committee, will be joined by members of the Tax Equity Caucus and advocates from CT for All and CT Voices to highlight the Caucus’s legislative priorities on Friday, Feb. 27 at 10am at LOB Room 1B. The press conference will be held in advance of the Finance, Revenue, and Bonding Committee’s public hearing. 

 

This year’s legislative priorities focus on reforming the regressive nature of Connecticut’s tax system that disproportionally impacts working families. 

 

The four bills to be discussed are: 

• Proposed S.B. No. 103 AN ACT ESTABLISHING A REFUNDABLE CHILD TAX CREDIT. 
• Proposed S.B. No. 104 AN ACT ESTABLISHING A CAPITAL GAINS SURCHARGE. 
• Proposed H.B. No. 5133 AN ACT INCREASING THE HIGHEST MARGINAL RATE OF THE PERSONAL INCOME TAX. 
• Proposed H.B. No. 5187 AN ACT ADJUSTING THE FISCAL GUARDRAILS.
