MAYOR GANIM AND THE CITY OF BRIDGEPORT EMERGENCY OPERATIONS CENTER ADVISE RESIDENTS OF OPEN DETONATION AT LAKE SUCCESS BUSINESS PARK
Bridgeport, CT – Today, Mayor Ganim and the Bridgeport Emergency Operations Center (EOC) have announced an approved plan for the open destruction of Munitions and Explosives of Concern (MEC) found at Lake Success Business Park (formerly Remington Park). Sporting Goods Properties, Inc. (SGP) has obtained this approved plan from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and will begin working throughout Lake Success Business Park, beginning July 6, 2026 until July 31, 2026.
The Bridgeport Fire, Police, and Health Departments have been made aware of these plans and encourage all residents living near Lake Success Business Park to remain calm during periods of loud noises in the area. Residents are also encouraged to visit CT Mirror to learn more about the project and plans to conserve Lake Success Business Park.
