MEDIA ADVISORY

EMERGENCY PROTEST & SPEAK-OUT

Dare to Struggle will be holding an emergency protest in downtown Hartford in response to ICE agents executing yet another person in broad daylight on 1/24

WHAT:We will rally in protest of ICE and their murder of 37 year old Alex Pretti

WHEN: Today Saturday, January 24th, 4:30 PM EST

WHERE: Corner of Main Street and Central Row, Hartford, CT

WHO: Members of Dare to Struggle alongside other activists and members of the community

WHY: The terrifying video of the shooting shows a pile on of at least seven federal agents viciously assaulting 37 year old Alex Pretti on the street. One agent begins to fire shots striking the brutalized man. More agents draw their guns and shots continue to be fired as the body lay on the ground and the cowards in masks scuffle away.

The relentless number of deaths at the hands of ICE and vicious separation of families will continue unless thousands of people decide to dedicate themselves to organizing collective struggle among immigrant masses.  Decide for yourself: Is this status quo okay to you? Or is it time for something drastically different?

We are demanding:

  1. Release the name of the ICE pig who murdered Alex Pretti in Minneapolis on 1/24

  2. Charge him with murder

  3. Arrest all officers involved

  4. All ICE pigs out of CT

Dare to Struggle is a multinational organization open to anyone who wants to resist and stop injustice no matter who holds political office. We don’t lobby politicians. We don’t use insular activist lingo. We don’t chase social media fame. We don’t seek careers or corporate sponsorship through activism. We’re committed to standing with the people subjected to the horrors of the American nightmare. We go to the neighborhoods facing police brutality, ICE raids, poverty, and evictions, talk to people about the problems they face, and organize people in collective struggle. We know that radical change only happens when people step outside of routine protest or expecting politicians to do it for us and take bold, collective action.
