In Preparation for Upcoming Public Discussion, New Haven Celebrates
Design for Boathouse at Canal Dock Project

Representatives from Langan Engineering
WHAT: At this event, the City of New Haven, along with Connecticut
DOT, Langan Engineering and Environmental Services and Gregg Wies &
Gardner Architects, will discuss the proposed design plan for the
Boathouse at Canal Dock project. The project design incorporates
historically and architecturally significant elements of the demolished
Adee Boathouse and will provide a central facility in New Haven for
water dependant uses including public boat rentals, educational exhibits
and classrooms. The proposed project features a two-story, 31,000
square-foot community boathouse that will include floating docks for
activities such as rowing, kayaking, canoeing and boating and support
facilities including boat storage bays, locker rooms, training areas and
offices. There will be a public meeting for residents to discuss the
proposed project on Thursday, September 2, 2010 in the Hall of Records,
200 Orange Street, Hearing Room G2 at 7 p.m.
