City of Bridgeport, Health Department to Cut Ribbon on New Mobile Medical Response Unit in the City of Bridgeport

Celebration Marks the Grand Opening of Clinical Services to Be Provided by Health Department Staff Throughout the Community  

 

WHO:             City of Bridgeport officials, Ebony Jackson-Shaheed; Acting Director of Health & Social Services, Tammy Papa; Acting Deputy Director of Health Operations, Scott Appleby; Director of Emergency Management, Jodi Fulton; Supervisor of Communicable Disease Clinic, Pastor Rhonda Taylor; Golden Hill United Methodist Church

 

WHAT:          City officials to join Health Department staff to cut the ribbon on a brand-new medical response unit which will provide non-emergency medical services - such as vaccine and testing opportunities - to Bridgeport residents.

 

The launch will include the opportunity for Bridgeport residents to receive the Moderna vaccine from 3pm to 6pm. No appointment necessary. In partnership with the Emergency Operations Center, the Bridgeport Health Department Communicable Disease Clinic will soon begin to utilize the unit to provide access to STD and TB testing at locations throughout the community which include houses of worship, senior housing, parks, and various community events.
