MURPHY AND BLUMENTHAL TO ANNOUNCE FEDERAL GRANT TO FIGHT FLOODING IN SOUTHINGTON

Southington, CT – On Friday, June 26th, U.S. Senators Chris Murphy (D-Conn.) and Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.) will hold a press conference with State Representative Chris Poulos and Southington town staff to award $300k in federal funding to protect Southington from future flooding.
As extreme weather becomes more prevalent across the country, areas like downtown Plantsville have become increasingly vulnerable to flooding. Federal funding secured by Senators Murphy and Blumenthal, in partnership with State Rep. Poulos, will support a study to help Southington identify the most effective ways to strengthen critical infrastructure and protect homes and businesses from future flooding.
