MEDIA ADVISORY

South Windsor Democrats Discuss Appeal Filed in
Voter Disenfranchisement Case

The South Windsor Democratic Town Committee will hold a press conference on Monday, December 29th, 2025, at 1:30 p.m. outside the Hartford Judicial District Courthouse to discuss the appeal filed of the voter disenfranchisement case of Amadasun vs. Armstrong, HHD-CV25-6214193-S.

WHEN:
Monday, December 29th, 2025
1:30 pm – 2:15 pm

WHERE:
Hartford Judicial District Courthouse (in front of the Courthouse)
95 Washington Street, Hartford, CT (metered, street parking is available)

WHY THIS MATTERS:
On November 4, 2025, South Windsor voters elected six Democrats and three Republicans to the Town Council and approved charter revisions, including lowering the maximum number of seats one party may hold from six to five. The following day, without public discussion or Council input, unelected municipal administrators stated the changes would be applied retroactively and unevenly.

Under their flawed interpretation, Harrison Amadasun, the sixth-highest Democratic vote-getter with 3,847 votes, lost his seat on the Town Council, and Republican Rick Balboni, who received the tenth-highest number of votes with 2,937, was seated instead, effectively disenfranchising thousands of South Windsor voters.
