GOVERNOR LAMONT STATEMENT ON THE FOURTH ANNIVERSARY OF THE DOBBS DECISION

Hartford, Conn. – Governor Ned Lamont today released the following statement marking four years since the Supreme Court of the United States issued its decision in Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization:

“Four years ago today, the Supreme Court stripped away nearly fifty years of constitutional protections for abortion access—leaving millions across our country blindsided and uncertain about their futures.

Here in Connecticut, we got to work. We strengthened reproductive freedoms for women, passing first-in-the-nation shield laws to protect patients and the healthcare providers who deliver their care.

Whether you’re in Connecticut or looking at our state from places where your rights have been compromised: We see you, we hear you, and we will always have your back. Decisions about your body, your family, and your future belong to you and your doctor, not to politicians.
