FAIRFIELD, CT — Today, Congressman Jim Himes announced his campaign’s partnership in the 2022 National Democracy Summer School. This program, developed by Congressman Jaime Raskin, is designed to train and educate college and high school-aged students as political activists, organizers, and leaders. This is the second year Himes for Congress has participated in Democracy Summer since the program went national in 2021.
“The National Democracy Summer School is an excellent program that blends both practical and educational opportunities for Fellows,” said Congressman Jim Himes. “Training the next generation of Democratic organizers and leaders has never been more important and I’m proud to once again be able to offer this opportunity to students in the Fourth Congressional district.” Concluded Himes.
As part of this initiative, Himes for Congress is looking for three dedicated high school and college students to join the team as Himes for Congress Fellows. Summer fellows will participate in an exciting online seminar and curriculum focused on the history of social and political change in America and the progress of political democracy while simultaneously training as organizers and volunteer activists on the ground with Himes for Congress.
