TOMORROW: Courtney Visits Day Kimball Hospital to Discuss New Federal Funding to Expand Services and Improve Safety—One of Courtney’s Ten Successful Community Project Requests for 2022
NORWICH, CT – Tomorrow morning at 9:00am ET, Rep. Joe Courtney (CT-02) will visit Day Kimball Hospital in Putnam to meet with leadership
and staff about new Community Project Funding secured for the hospital by Rep. Courtney in the 2022 federal budget. The 2022 budget included specific, targeted funding requested by Rep. Courtney for ten important local projects throughout eastern Connecticut—including
at Day Kimball Hospital.
Now that the budget has been signed into law, Day Kimball Hospital will officially receive $550,000 in federal funding to purchase new fluoroscopy equipment, expanding their capabilities for the communities they serve and improving safety for staff and patients.

“Day Kimball Healthcare is extremely grateful for our partnership with Congressman Courtney and his staff in support of our request for federal funding to purchase a new Siemens Agile Fluoroscopy System for our diagnostic imaging service line,”
said Kyle Kramer, CEO of Day Kimball Hospital, after the House passed the 2022 budget.
“[…] this new fluoroscopy system will expand our imaging and procedural capabilities, improve patient experience, increase operating efficiency for staff, and reduce the amount of radiation exposure to patients and technologists. This funding will greatly
benefit and enhance the availability of this high-demand healthcare resource, and will provide immeasurable benefits to countless residents across Northeast Connecticut.”
Tomorrow, Courtney will meet with Day Kimball CEO Kyle Kramer, Paul Beaudoin (Chief Financial Officer), Janice Thurlow (Board Chairman), Dr. Mike Baum, MD (President, Medical Staff), Dr. David Blonder, MD (Medical Director of Diagnostic Imaging), Dr. Hadeer Shaikhley, MD (Radiologist, Body/Breast Imaging), CT State Senator Mae Flexer, and others to discuss the successful Community Project Request and new funding, and the positive impact the project will have in northeast Connecticut.
