OFFICIAL PORTRAIT OF FORMER MAYOR TONI HARP TO BE UNVEILED AT CITY HALL CEREMONY

NEW HAVEN, CT – Today, Tuesday, May 17th at 4:30 p.m., former New Haven Mayor Toni Harp will be honored at a City Hall ceremony with the unveiling of her official portrait. Harp served three terms, from 2014 through 2019, as New Haven’s 50th mayor and was the first woman and second African American to hold the position. The portrait of Mayor Harp, painted by nationally renowned artist and Yale alumnus Mario Moore, will hang in City Hall’s second floor atrium after the unveiling. City and state leaders (past and present), other dignitaries and members of the public are invited and expected to attend the ceremony.
