Hi,
I could not find previous messages that addressed this directly so I thought I would ask here. I want to find overlap estimates for 50 and 70% akdes I ran in ctmm. I know it is not possible to do overlap other than the 95% in ctmm. Does anyone know if there is a way to take the akde home ranges from ctmm and input them into the amt overlap functions to get other overlap estimates besides the 95%? I've tried importing as rasters but that hasn't worked.
Thanks!
Michael

Hi Michael,
ctmm::overlap() does not estimate the 95% geometric overlap in coverage areas. That argument is for the confidence intervals. Geometric overlap measures are sensitive to the choice of coverage probability and do not account for non-uniform space use. By default, ctmm::overlap() calculates a debiased Bhattacharya coefficient: https://besjournals.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/2041-210X.13027
and there is an option related to the UDOI, but with a corrected normalization.
