Hi, I've looked around and I'm trying to figure out if this is possible:

I've produced an AKDE. I'd like to convert it from an arbitrary x/y axis to a flat projection (Transverse Mercator ideally) that I can map.

I'd also like to use that reprojected AKDE to calculate overlap with home range shape files at different isopleths (95% AKDE and 50% AKDE).

I saw a conversation back in December saying that mapping needed to be done in external programs, like Leaflet, which makes me think such a reprojection is not likely. But what about calculating habitat overlap?

Thanks for your help!
Theo

Sorry there was a typo: not home range shape files. I want to calculate overlap between the 95% and 50% akde with habitat shape files.

Hi Theo,

You should be able to export the AKDE areas into sp or sf formats and then calculate that within sp or sf.

Alternatively, you can export the AKDE PMF into raster format and calculate expectation values from the cell-wise sum of PMF*habitat raster.

Best,
Chris
