Hello Everyone,
Hope you’re doing great
I am Ratnesh, and and come to know about this group while Googling. I am writing this email to inquiry about workshop opportunity in movement ecology.
I am pursuing doctoral degree at Ashoka University (India). My interests lie in integrated approaches of genomic and GIS tools for conservation of wildlife (mostly bats). As bat are one of the unexplored group of mammalian species compared to other mammals in India, I am keen on understanding the movement patterns of bats (selected species) to study migration by integrating movement ecology with genetic approaches.
As I am new to the field of movement ecology, I am eager to learn and apply satellite/GPS tagging techniques to study a cave-roosting bat populations (metapopulation) in Eastern Himalayan region. Could you suggest tools or resources or methods suitable for small-bodied animals like bats? Furthermore, I would really appreciate if one could provide information about workshops or training opportunities available for graduate students.
Thank you!
Warm Regards
