Hey All - does anyone have an example script, or is there a built in function, to quantify the size of the home range output (aKDE)?

Hello,

The area estimates are stored in the UD object created by akde(). The easiest way to access them is by running summary() on the UD object.

The areas are not directly stored in the UD object, but summary() calculates them quickly from the UD object.
