Dear All,

I found some grave mistakes in my data and am wondering if I need to redo some home range estimates with ctmm.  The tail end of some of my spreadsheets have basically the same location, suggesting the collar dropped off or the animal is dead.  Some of these dup fixes are over 100.  Does ctmm account for this or do I need to edit the spreadsheets and re-do some of the home ranges?

Thanks, Nanette.

Hi Nanette,

You need to remove the duplicate locations or the movement models and density estimates will be biased.

We will have some segmentation methods coming in the next few years that can estimate an unknown time at which the behavior changes sharply, but it will not be automatically accounted for.

Best,
Chris
