Hello,

I would like to include the calculate the number of home range crossings. Is there a way in CTMM to return this value? I've looked over the documentation and I can't seem to find anything.

Thank you,
Maria

Hi Maria,

After you fit a model, DOF[area] is roughly the number of home-range crossings that are observed in the data, assuming that model is true.
If there are large gaps in the data, the actual number of crossings during the observation period can be larger, but should be on the order of the period of the data divided by tau[position].

Best,
Chris
