CTJUG and CTJC(the meetup) efforts unification/collaboration

Hi,

I'm the (reluctant) organizer of CTJC meetup group (http://www.meetup.com/Cape-Town-Java-Meetup/). I started the group 6 months ago and we are now up to 150 members and hold monthly meetings which seem to draw a decent crowd.

The last meeting was hosted by BSG, we had 2 first time speakers deliver talks, and 30 developers gathered round pizzas and beers. The next meetup is on the 3rd of March, hosted by Impact Radius, we got 3 speakers lined up and hope to have a similar or larger attendance. If you've not already joined, please do.

There is obvious overlap between the JUG and the meetup group and I would like to unite the efforts if possible. The reason I setup the group in the first place was because it seems like the CTJUG has gone stale, very little discussion in the mailing list, no tweets, no website etc. If the original organizers/members want to join the renewed effort at creating a Java community it would be great to pool our resources.

Any ideas/feedback is welcome :-)
