Hi!

My name is Viola Tang and this year I am serving as the Academic Affairs Vice President of the ASUC. The office is working to establish a new fund, the Arts & Creativity Fund (ACF), to fund the arts and invigorate creative culture at Cal. This is a follow up e-mail regarding the initiative and its developments. 

Following the Community Meeting on Friday, we heard many great narratives on the specific needs and challenges faced by performance, arts and creativity groups and individual students' projects, which will be critical to establishing the mission and objective of the fund. Ideas for a fundraising event also arose at the meeting, and the office will be working to begin planning efforts for a fundraiser for the grant.

Tonight, the ACF Bill will be considered by the Constitutional Review committee of the ASUC. The bill must pass this committee in order for the grant to be established. We are thus writing to invite you and all members of your group and friends, to help us show the ASUC Senators the need and support for the grant. Please join us tonight at 9pm at the Senate Lounge on the 2nd floor of Eshelman. Any specific experiences you would be willing to share with the Senators would be extremely appreciated.
