Hi Su Yang,

Universal Love and Peace (ULAP) is a social justice group that was recently ratified at Berkeley in August 2010. It was co-founded by Andrew Estrada Phuong and Elisa Yu in their high school and over the years ULAP has raised over 33k for domestic and foreign human rights issues. ULAP has achieved this through a series of showcases to raise money for charity supporting human rights.

ULAP hopes to continue its previous success by planning and carrying out an international showcase on either November 12 or 19. The purpose of having a showcase that is international is to reach out to the most diverse audience possible and to enhance appreciation of different cultures, which will promote more peace and understanding between multicultural groups. This showcase seeks to exhibit as many different groups and acts as possible, ranging from instrumental to dance to vocals. Ten minutes is allocated to each act. The location of the showcase will either be in Dwinelle, Wheeler or the International House, and the time is from 5 to 9.30pm.
