to CT Coffee Party
Yesterday, 4/29, I went down to NYC to march with AFL-CIO and NAP for
the first large demo against Wall Street since the crash/shakedown.
10000 people, Richard Trumpka, lots of media and a very long walk.
Since we here in CT live so close to Wall Street, bedeviling them
could be a continuing project for CT CoffeeKlatchers. While the Casino
is on Wall Street, the players, 150000 of them, commute down there
from CT every day. Additionally, the Corporate Headquarters of many of
the Financial behemoths that have pillaged our economy and left
millions out of work, many of them in foreclosure, et cetera, are
right here in CT, Greenwich, Stamford, Bridgeport, Hartford and it's
donut ring.
We could easily be taking this fight literally to their front doors.
I must say, I was a bit put off by the Civility pledge that the
National Coffee Party is promoting, Sorry if I don't feel very civil
anymore but in trying to end Iraq and Afghanistan, we were far too
polite for far too long and the wars are still going on.
There are appropriate venues for anger and incivility and one of them
is political protest, what was the Tshirt? "Well Behaved Women Seldom
Make History"?
If the Coffee Party is going to keep it all genteel and accomodating,
it will do very little very slowly, Is that what we want?
Seems like a waste of time, effort and organization to me.
