Coffee Party World Cafe Conference Next Thursday

Dear Friends:
I hope you can join me for the first of what I hope will be a series of world café calls focused on the activities of the Coffee Party Movement. This is a chance to cross-pollinate ideas among members around the country and to learn more about a format for dialog, the world café, that has much to offer for those seeking civil, productive and collaborative conversation about questions that matter.
The first call is scheduled for Thursday, May 6th, from 6-8pm Eastern time. We will be using the Maestro Conference system, which is an advanced means of conducting such discussions, yet requires only a phone and no special software or knowledge for the call’s participants. I encourage you to invite others to join us as well. The world café format works well with large and diverse groups, as we are seeking to tap into the greater intelligence of the whole. (We split into a series of small groups so that everyone has plenty of opportunity to talk, so you needn’t worry about being stuck on the sidelines even if we have a lot of people on the call.)
I am considering the following question as the subject of our conversation: “How do we come together to create an engaging and activist movement that can catalyze change while simultaneously offering a “big tent” open to people with a wide range of political viewpoints?” Suggestions for refining the question are welcome. We want to go deep and to unlock positive and creative thinking.
