Tibet Permit application
1. Foreigners who plan to travel in Tibet must obtain a Tibet Permit and be directed by a travel agency.
2. We need clear copies of your passport and China Visa in order to apply for the Tibet Permit and you can send them to me via email or fax.
3. As a local tour operator based in Lhasa, we can help you get the Tibet Permit very easily.
Note kindly: we have a branch office in Chengdu so we can delivery the Tibet Permit directly to you.
Suggested itinerary (7 days/6 nights)
Day 1 (June 24th) Arrival in Lhasa (L)
Accommodation: Cool Yak Hotel or similar class
Welcome to Tibet! Before the landing, you will catch a fantastic panorama of miles of snow-capped peaks. At the airport you will be greeted and offered a white scarf (called Kada) in a Tibet traditional way which brings you good luck. Pick up at the airport and transfer to hotel. The rest of the day is at your leisure to relax and acclimatize as follows:
1. Do not walk fast and do not eat too much food
2. Try to drink more fresh water
3. Keep a happy mood and have a good sleep
Day 2 (June 25th) Lhasa Sightseeing (B+L)
Accommodation: Cool Yak Hotel or similar class
Highlights: Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple, Barkhor Street
Today visit Potala Palace (World Cultural Heritage) which served as the winter residence of the Dalai Lamas and the symbol of the supreme power. In the afternoon visit Jokhang Temple (World Cultural Heritage) where you could see a grand sight that numerous Buddhist pilgrims come for worship. Later explore the old town of Lhasa and walk on the Barkhor Street, a big free market with its prolific stalls for selling local specialties. In the evening, if you like, you could go to a characterized bar at the Barkhor Street to experience the nightlife of Tibet.
Day 3 (June 26th) Lhasa Sightseeing (B+L)
Accommodation: Cool Yak Hotel or similar class
Highlights: Drepung Monastery, Sera Monastery
In the morning visit Drepung Monastery, located on a small hill in the west of central Lhasa, was the largest monastery with over 10,000 monks. Take a walk around and appreciate a wonderful view of the city. In the afternoon, visit Sera Monastery, which was created in 1419 and has always been an important Buddhist seminary. As rose are planted everywhere in the monastery, it is also called “the court of wild rose”. Today still 200 lamas live in there. Catch the famous debate session of the monks there.
Day 4 (June 27th) Lhasa / Gyangtse (B+L)
Accommodation: Gyangtse Dzong Hotel or similar class
Highlights: Yamdrok Lake, Palkhor Monastery
In the morning we will pick you up at the hotel and drive to Gyangtse. On the Kamba La (4.796 m) have a fantastic view of the turquoise-like Yamdrok Lake which is regarded as one of the 3 holy lakes. You can also view Ningjinkangsang Snow Mountain (7191m) and Karola Glacier from a distance on the way as well. Upon arrival in Gyangtse, visit Palkhor Monastery and Kumbum Stupa-the only monastery that houses monks from different sects. As a result, it leads to its distinctive structural style, murals and scriptures. Later free time at your disposal to explore the old ancient town where a lot of traditions are well kept.
Day 5 (June 28th) Gyangtse / Shigatse (B+L)
Accommodation: Yangtze Hotel or similar class
Highlights: Tashilumpo Monastery
In the morning pick up at the hotel and transfer to Shigatse- the second largest city in Tibet and the home town of Banchen Lama. In the afternoon, visit Tashilumpo Monastery which sprawls on the slops of Mt. Niser, southwest of Shigatse. It covers an area of about 300,000 square meters. There are many valuable and rare historical articles in the monastery. Later free time at your disposal. You can either explore the free market or go to the characterized Tenzin Guesthouse to drink beers.
Day 6 (June 29th) Shigatse / Lhasa (B+L)
Accommodation: Cool Yak Hotel or similar class
Highlights: Yampachen
Today we will drive back to Lhasa city via Yampachen where you can enjoy the grassland view and hot spring (optional, self paid). Upon arrival in Lhasa, free time at your disposal.
Day 7 (June 30th) Say Goodbye to Tibet (B)
In the morning pick up at the hotel and transfer to airport or train station for departure and say goodbye.

The tour above is a private tour. You (maybe yourself only, or with your spouse, or your family, or your friends) will have an English speaking licensed tour guide, a private vehicle (with size in accordance with the size of the group) and a licensed driver. The guide, driver and vehicle will be at your service only during the whole trip organized by Access Tibet Tour
