Dear Supporter of Camerata Tinta Barocca,
Please find more information on our first concert season for 2019 below.
We will kick off our year with an exciting recital featuring the much-celebrated American countertenor Lawrence Zazzo and two young South African sopranos, Lynelle Kenned and Brittany Smith at the Centre for the Book on Sunday 17 February, in a programme of music from Handel operas. On Tuesday 26 February (Baxter Concert Hall) and Monday 4 March (Endler Hall, Stellenbosch, repeat concert) we will present a programme of virtuoso works from the 18th century, featuring three international soloists: Philipp Mathmann (male soprano), Anna Fusek (recorder, baroque violin) and Petra Marianowski (harpsichord). For these concerts, we are also happy to welcome back baroque violinist Bettina von Dombois from Germany as CTB’s concert master. The programme includes a recorder concerto, Bach’s 5th Brandenburg concerto and castrato arias.
