Dear Cape Town Baroque Festival Supporter

The 2018 Cape Town Baroque Festival is upon us! We look forward to sharing a weekend of beautiful Baroque music with you!

A few practical arrangements with regards to the festival:
  • Please note that the Sanlam Cape Town Marathon is also taking place this weekend. This means that there will be road closures in Cape Town, and consequently increased traffic and congestion on available routes. We would like to kindly request that you allow more travel time than usual to get to our concert venues in order to ensure that you will arrive in time despite above-mentioned obstructions. I have attached the official Cape Town Marathan 2018 Road Closure schedule for your convenience - you can consult this schedule to see if there will be any road closures on your planned route.
  • CTBF Opening Concert - Glorious Baroque, this Friday, 21 September 2018 at the St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church: The ticket desk will open at 19:15. Please note that seating for this concert is not reserved, so we would advise that you come early enough to find a good parking spot, enjoy a glass of wine with us and settle into your seat in good time before the concert starts. Fine Music Radio will be doing a live broadcast of this concert, which means that the concert will start at 20:00 sharp and that no-one will be let in after the doors have closed. We would like to kindly request that you take your seats by 19:50 and wait with us in anxious anticipation until the magic commences!
  • Architectural walking tour of UCT Hiddingh Campus with John Rennie, Saturday 22 September, 13:30-15:30: The meeting point for this event is the bus shelter at the campus' Orange street entrance (opposite Labia Theatre). Once again, we would like to kindly request that you arrive a bit early, so that the tour can start at 13:30 sharp.
  • An evening of Baroque chamber music, Saturday 22 September, 20:00, The Baxter Theatre: Do not forget about the pre-concert talk by Anna Stoddard, at 19:15 in the Baxter Concert Hall.

The Festival front of house contact person is Alida van der Walt. She will be behind the ticket desk all other festival events. Please feel free to contact her if you have any questions or concerns - 0712550908 or by responding to this email.

Thank you for supporting us, and making it possible for us to do the work that we really care about.

All the best,

Erik
