Carolina wrens
I've noticed the same thing about the Carolina Wren. I don't hear any in the neighborhood and I've had them here for years. This spring before nesting season started, I found an abandoned Carolina  nest with five eggs so, they disappeared last summer. I was wondering if others had noticed a decline. Thank you, Paul and Sarah for bringing the subject up.i really miss them!

For the last few years I had a pair of Carolina wrens in my yard. They were still here during the winter, but one didn't seem to survive the second cold snap, and the other one disappeared a short time later. No sign of any Carolina wrens since then.
