[CT Birds] Greater scaup- just my opinion

Hi Jim,
I do believe that animals (including ducks) experience emotions. Just like
decades ago, when science didn't think that animals feel pain, and now they
know better. When my brother went to Cornell vet school, decades ago, he
was taught that animals do not feel pain. He argued with the professors.
So ,(in my opinion) just because at this point in time, science doesn't
acknowledge that animals can experience emotions, doesn't mean it's true.

I know our parrot certainly feels emotions. Sometimes he gets so angry the
skin on his face turns red.

A couple years ago there was a ruckus in a maple tree close to the house so I investigated and found crows robbing a squirrel’s nest. That mama squirrel sat in the tree and cried all day...broke my heart. She certainly felt emotion at her babies being taken.
