Captain's Cove is almost completely frozen over so there are very few ducks except mostly Mallards and the Eurasian Wigeon. No Scaup whatsoever. Maybe when things thaw out(who knows when that will be!) the Tufted Duck might return. Keep checking any flocks of Scaup and Ring-necked Ducks.

Actually I found several Greater and one Lesser Scaup as well as 1 Ring-necked Duck,11 Horned Grebes, many Hooded Mergansers,1RB Merganser,Eurasian Wigeon,American Wigeon,Gadwall,Canada Geese,American Coot,American Black Duck,Mallards,Buffleheads,Common Goldeneye pair. So there is still a nice diverse group of waterfowl to see up close.

It is low tide now (9:30am). Probably when the tide gets high (3:30pm), the rising salt water will break up the ice to allow more waterfowl ( and hopefully the Tufted Duck) to return.
