[CT Birds] jumping on the Grackle bandwagon in New Britain

Did my usual feeder filling yesterday and all was quiet until around 5:30 - 6:00 PM when at least thirty, possibly many more, Grackles showed up all at once - I've figured myself lucky to see two or three occassionally all summer but my front steps were almost totally covered in Grackles.

Is this a seasonal thing?
