offshore development and agile

Hi all

Here is an interesting article by Marting Fowler on his experience
with using agile on offshore development:

I find it interesting in a South African context, because we use
offshore development companies and are used for offshore development
too. Which makes one wonder about the pros and cons of this kind of
development.

Has anybody had experience using agile in this way?
