Best way to hide / un-hide html components

I need to hide and un-hide html components per users' responses. In one sample scenario, the user is presented with a multiple choice. Depending on the choice, the current question will be faded out and a new question fade in, replacing the earlier question in its place.

Would you be able to tell me the best way to do it? (high level is fine, I know js and css and can take care of the lower level details)
