Hi everyone,

I tried to open my CTAT for HTML and Flash, but it cannot opened due to "An internal error occurred (error code: Could not load JRE.)". I don't know how to fix this issue.

Here I attach some screenshots from my laptop.
Thanks in advance :)

Hi Indra,

Your screenshots seem to show the CTAT application doesn't work with the JAVA_HOME variable. I think the application was built with the Java Application Bundler, which according to stackoverflow only works with an embedded java or one installed in /Library/Internet\ Plug-Ins/JavaAppletPlugin.plugin/Contents/Home. Which is where Java 8 is installed on my mac, and it works fine. So I'd suggest you remove all Java installations, reinstall Java 8, and check it's installed in that folder.

Best,
Octav

I'm now redirecting questioners like this to the web application. But I never knew this about Java on Macs--so thanks,

I am going through the same issue on my Mac. I have Java 8 installed in the path mentioned in the previous answer from this thread (/Library/Internet\ Plug-Ins/JavaAppletPlugin.plugin/Contents/Home). Are there any specific enviroment variables (JAVA_HOME, etc.) I need to set or is there anything else that I am missing? Please guide me on how I can solve this issue.

I don't have any Java specific settings in my environment. What do you see on the Java tab in your Java Control Panel? I'd guess it's still a Java installation issue, maybe because the default java hasn't been uninstalled properly?

I also still run on an Intel mac, I don't know if that matters, but the Java CTAT still runs fine on my machine.

Also as Jonathan mentioned below, you should move to our newer web app, the Java CTAT is an application we abandoned a couple of years ago.

Best,
Octav

Thank you so much for your quick response! I have already seen my Java Control Panel and everything looks fine there. I also tried installing the CTAT app on my Windows machine and it worked. Even after successful installation on Windows, the Java CTAT app is not being able to produce the correct brd files for me. So it does seem like this is an issue of my Mac M1 processor.

I have contacted Jonathan and received the credentials for the new web app. I think that is the way to go rather than trying to make the Java CTAT app run!
