Hello, developers!

Many of you have asked us for JSON feeds.

As such, we've been experimenting with some JSON-formatted feeds as output from our existing, XML-only-until-now APIs (along with some preliminary, updated documentation) for the separate Bus Tracker, Train Tracker, and Customer Alerts API families.

You can now find updated documentation that includes info on how to request JSON-formatted output from these existing APIs at http://transitchicago.com/developers.

So far, in our internal and limited external testing, feedback has been positive. Let us know if you have any questions or feedback that we could incorporate into future versions based on your experiences!

Thanks for working with our data and helping to make it easier for people to get access to info that helps people make informed decisions about their travels--we really appreciate your amazing work.

Well, JSON is important as goofy as the name sound. The API does not like calling a script with a JSON output. Also, it depends what your input is for JSON. Is the script written in Java or JavaScript and or a combination. And, then what do you want JSON to do from your server?
