Coming Soon: New Cermak-McCormick Place Station (Green Line)

Hello, developers!

 

The new Cermak-McCormick Place station on the Green Line is expected to open for service in February 2015. The station will be located just east of State Street on Cermak Road and will have an island platform serving both of the two tracks through the area.

There will be entrances from both sides of Cermak Road as well as from 23rd street. The station will be accessible to people with disabilities.

 

To help you all to start anticipating this in your apps, here is the pertinent station information:

 

Station IDs (in GTFS and Train Tracker):

Northbound stop (service toward Harlem/Lake): 30381

Southbound stop (service toward 63rd St terminals): 30382

Parent station ID: 41690

 

Train Tracker by Text stop code: CRMC

 

Lat: 41.853115

Lon: -87.626402

Added note: The new Cermak-McCormick Place Green Line station is open. You can update your 'L' stop lists, accordingly.

Also, the List of 'L' stops on the City of Chicago Data Portal has been updated to include information about this new station. This dataset may be useful in some of your apps, as each stop and station are listed with flags indicating direction, services that stop there, accessibility, various ways of identifying the station by name and lat/lon:
