A Walk Along the Quinebaugh River, Putnam, CT

Join us for a walk along the Quinebaugh River in Putnam, CT on Saturday, February 8, 2025 at 11:00 a.m., and afterwards attend the annual Fire & Ice Festival in downtown Putnam, CT.

This is a flat, paved walk, three miles in total length, beginning at Putnam's Price Chopper Shopping Center (249 Kennedy Drive, Putnam, CT) and extending along the Quinebaug River within the City of Putnam.  Meet at the parking lot in the Putnam Shopping Center near the Thai Place Restaurant (241 Kennedy Drive, Putnam, CT) at 10:30 a.m. The walk starts at 11:00 a.m. sharp.

After the walk, which ends back at the Shopping Center, we will have our post-hike luncheon at the Thai Place (241 Kennedy Drive, Putnam, CT) which is located at the Shopping Center.  After lunch, those interested can walk to downtown Putnam to attend the 14th Annual Fire & Ice Festival.  The festival features ice carvings, pyrotechnic displays, a cake decorating contest, and a bonfire.  The Putnam Fire & Ice Festival starts at noon and ends at 8:00 p.m.  Putnam also has several antique shops (Antiques Marketplace, Jeremiah's Antiques, etc.) for those into antiquing.
