Join us for a walk along the Quinbaug River in the City of Putnam, Connecticut on Saturday,  February 10, 2024 at 11:00 a.m.  Afterwards we will attend the annual Fire & Ice Festival in downtown Putnam.

This is a flat, paved walk, three-miles in total length, beginning at Putnam's Price Chopper Shopping Center (249 Kennedy Drive, Putnam, CT) and extending along the Quinebaug River and environs within the City of Putnam.  Meet in the parking lot in the Putnam Shopping Mall, near the Thai Place Restaurant (241 Kennedy Drive, Putnam, CT) at 10:30 a.m. on 02/10/2024.  The walk starts at 11:00 a.m. sharp.

After completion of the walk, we will have our post-hike social/luncheon at the Thai Place Restaurant (241 Kennedy Drive, Putnam, CT) located in the Putnam Shopping Center.  After lunch, some of us will walk to downtown Putnam (easily walkable from the Shopping Center) to go antiquing.  There are some great antique shops in downtown Putnam:  Antiques Market Place, Jeremiah's Antiques, etc.  The stores are open until 5:00 p.m.

Those interested can attend the annual Fire & Ice Festival in downtown Putnam, which features dozens of ice carvings, pyrotechnic performances, a hot air balloon, a cake decorating contest, and a bonfire.  Putnam's Fire and Ice Festival starts at noon and ends at 9:00 pm.

As always, dress appropriately for the season, including proper footwear, and read our Disclaimer in the About Us section.  This is the same walk that we did last year in February 2023.
