Kalaveshi Arts is excited to invite you to participate in our upcoming 2024 Small Works Juried Exhibition! This is an open call with no specific theme, allowing you to showcase your creativity and talent in any medium you choose. Whether you're an emerging artist or an established professional, we welcome you to submit your small-scale 2D artworks for this exciting summer show!
Juror: Carol Ganick
Ganick is a Connecticut artist and painting teacher. A graduate of Boston University, she was a Connecticut Watercolor Society Award Winner in 1999, 2001, and 2004.
Currently her primary medium of choice is watercolor. She has extensive experience working in various media including oil, oil and cold wax, acrylic, collage, and printmaking.
A member of many Connecticut art organizations, she has taught classes and workshops at the West Hartford Art League for several decades. Interested in abstraction, conceptual,
and representational art, her teaching style emphasizes building basic painting skills and fostering a love for process in her students.
Dates:
· Exhibit: June 23 – July 27, 2024
· Deadline for Submission: June 14, 2024
· Notification Date: June 16, 2024 (via email and website)
· Artwork Drop-Off: June 17 from 12pm - 3pm & June 18 from 3pm - 7pm at Kalaveshi Arts Studio/Gallery
· Opening Reception and Awards: June 23, 2 - 4pm
· Artwork Pickup: July 28, 2 - 4pm
Awards:
· Best of Show: $125
· Second Place: $75
· Third Place: $50
Eligibility:
· Open to all artists aged 18+ and residing in CT
· 2D work only!
· Size of artwork must be 16 inches or smaller (including the frame)
· Artwork must be ready to hang!
· Up to three completed artworks can be submitted
· All art must be for sale!
· Accepted Media: painting, mixed media, drawing, collage, printmaking, fiber art. No photography. No AI generated art. No giclee or prints of paintings unless they are part of a mixed media artwork or collage.
Entry Details:
· Entry application and fees are to be digitally submitted via kalaveshiarts.com/call-for-artists
· Ensure you upload a high-quality photograph of your artwork
· Name each image using the following format: lastname_firstname_titleofartwork
· Uploaded files must be in JPG or PNG format
· Fees: First entry $20, second/third entry an additional $5 each.
Sales:
· Kalaveshi Arts retains a 20% commission on all sales.
