On view in the Founder’s Gallery is a memorial tribute celebrating the life and work of a beloved northwest Connecticut painter, writer, photographer, gardener, and friend of Real Art Ways, Marcia Reid Marsted.
Known for haunting, poetic, and whimsical photographs and paintings, Marsted drew inspiration from her home, gardens, extensive travels, and personal battle with cancer.
Throughout her career, which began in the 1980s, she earned prestigious grants and artist residencies, showcasing a fascination with light and shadow in numerous solo and group exhibitions across the country.
As part of this retrospective, there will be two 45-minute presentations by
Margery Winters, Roaring Brook Nature Center's Program Coordinator:
Friday, June 5, 7 pm, Butterfly Gardens Are For The Birds
Friday, June 19, 7pm, Native Plants: Handsome is as Handsome Does
