You're invited to contribute to a recently-launched, free arts newspaper, The Hartford Arts Pages. The spirit of the paper echoes the energy of old downtown publications like The Village Voice: gritty, hopeful, resourceful, peculiar, provocative, and deeply engaged—but never negative or mean-spirited.
Share up to 500 words of poetry, fiction, and especially essays/critiques on culture, art, society, and politics for consideration. (Regular features or series are welcome, too.) Contributors should either live in/near—and/or write about—Hartford.
Poets are especially encouraged to submit. Suggested topics for Issue #2, due out in mid-December, include: winter, holiday-lite, coziness, cold, ice, death...a lot to work with for winter!
And please feel free to forward this email to other writers who might be a good fit, too!
