Please join us for the opening of Not on Your Teacher’s Reading List, an exhibition of approximately 80 works by 24 contemporary book artists.
Expanding the idea of what a book can be, the exhibition ranges from hand-bound and altered books to sculptural works made with paper, found materials, and natural elements. These books may be read, stacked, hung, unfolded—or may not look like books at all.

About the Curator
Chris Perry studied art in Baltimore before moving to New York City, where he worked at the Guggenheim and for a sculptor. After a career as a woodworker and cabinetmaker, he returned to his art practice full-time in 2007, shifting from painting to book art.
He now works from his studio in Ridgefield, Connecticut, creating sculptural works that expand the book beyond its traditional form and scale
