Framework - Using reclaimed house windows as both a canvas and a subject, I paint in reverse on glass to construct architectural forms, optical arrangements and interlocking geometric systems. Matte acrylic, transparent passages, reflective metal leaf and exposed glass interact with the wall and surrounding light. The original frames, panes, hardware and imperfections remain visible, allowing each window’s history and physical structure to shape the finished work. The exhibition encompasses three areas of my practice: works that use the window as a framework for architectural forms and imagined structures; optical compositions exploring depth, movement and shifting perception; and patterned works built through repetition and interlocking geometry.
Framework runs concurrently with renowned photographer Hank Paper’s See-Scapes. Hank and I are also curating a shared wall that places our work in direct dialogue. I am a self-taught artist based in Berlin, Connecticut. My work is held in the collections of the New Britain Museum of American Art and Central Connecticut State University, and I received the Staff Selection Award at the Mattatuck Museum’s Mixmaster 2026 exhibition.
The opening reception is Saturday, September 19, from 2–5 p.m., with artist talks at 3:30 p.m.
