Dear James, A plant is never just a plant. That's the proposition at the heart of In Bloom, over the past weeks, eleven artists have made the case beautifully — in oil, egg tempera, watercolor, carvings, collage and textile. This Saturday is your last chance to see it. Join us for the closing reception Saturday June 13, 4 to 6 PM. The gallery is opens at 11 AM, so come early and linger. In Bloom brings together works by Mary Bailey, Hannah Barrett, Diana Gubbay, Heide Follin, Eric Hibit, Catherine Howe, Erin Kono, Ann McRae, Maggie Nowinski, Lawre Stone, and Lydia Viscardi — eleven artists who approach botanical form as a carrier of human history: the poppy that heals and destroys, the invasive species that colonizes without announcement, the garden flower pressed into allegory, the narrative textile. Also on view through Saturday: Seen, a solo exhibition of portraits by Kathy Coe. On view through June 13, 2026. G-Town Arts, 5 Main Street, Georgetown (Redding), CT We hope to see you this Saturday. |
