Riley Weaver - September 1st - 31st

National Iron Bank Member Show: September Riley Weaver WAA is happy to announce its first member to exhibit at the National Iron Bank, Riley Weaver. Riley Weaver is a multimedia artist born in Chestnut Ridge, NY, and is based in Bethel, CT. He earned his BA, double majoring in Graphic Design and Photography, from Western Connecticut State University in 2024. He received his MFA at WCSU in interdisciplinary Visual Arts with a concentration in printmaking. His work explores the process and experience of becoming through his use of discarded materials and various artistic processes. He draws a connection between the discarded physical consumer world and the people and places in his life, personifying materials to tell a story.  Riley’s work has been shown in solo exhibitions in Danbury and Waterbury, CT, and in group shows in Yonkers, NY, Washington, CT, and Danbury, CT. He has contributed to the publication, design, and marketing for several programs and projects at WCSU. The Schematics of Life #8 If its forever, it's even better The Schematics of Life #17 National Iron Bank member shows Washington Art Association is thrilled to announce a brand-new year-round partnership with the National Iron Bank in Washington Depot, providing WAA members with an exciting new opportunity.  Beginning this September and each month following, one Washington Art Association member artist will be featured inside the National Iron Bank. This collaboration between WAA and the National Iron Bank will bring local artwork into the heart of the Washington community, while offering you, our members, an additional professional venue to exhibit and sell your work.  We want to celebrate our members, increase visibility for local artists, and strengthen the connection between two longstanding and historical community institutions.  In September, Riley will have his work on display at the National Iron Bank. The work will be available for purchase through the Washington Art Association website and gallery. A price list and QR code will be available at the National Iron Bank. We hope that you can stop by and support a fellow WAA member. The National Iron Bank is open from 9 am - 4 pm (Monday-Thursday), and 9 am - 5 pm (Friday), and is closed on weekends. There will be no formal opening for the show. This partnership is intended to become an annual Washington Art Association tradition. 12 new artists will be selected each year for their exhibitions through a raffle. We hope that this becomes a highly anticipated and longstanding opportunity for the heart of our community, our members.
