risk to reliability: resilient infrastructure services to face the challenges of nature

Dear ,

Natural disasters and climate events continue to test the resilience of Latin America and the Caribbean. Since 2000, the region has faced over 1,600 disasters, resulting in 260,000 deaths and $398 billion in economic losses.

This new publication —
From Risk to Reliability: Resilient Infrastructure Services to Face Nature’s Challenges —   explores how to strengthen infrastructure systems to ensure the continuity of essential services such as water, energy, and transport, especially for the most vulnerable.

 The report highlights:

  • The rising risks and economic impacts of natural disasters.

  • The urgent need to embed resilience in infrastructure planning and financing.

  • The growing role of the private sector in building adaptive, reliable systems.

Today investing in resilient infrastructure means investing in equity, stability, and prosperity for Latin America and the Caribbean.
