Dear HHD Alumni, Colleagues and Friends,
On behalf of California State University, Northridge and the College
of Health and Human Development, I am inviting you and your guests to
attend a reception prior to the special screening of The Weight of the
Nation presented in partnership with HBO and Kaiser Permanente in the
Valley Performing Arts Center, THURSDAY, MAY 10, 2012 at 5:00 pm.,
followed by the screening from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. RSVP required by May

A special panel discussion will follow the film led by HHD nutrition
and kinesiology faculty and moderated by the director of the CSUN
Institute for Community Health and Wellbeing.

The Weight of the Nation is an HBO documentary series addressing the
national obesity epidemic. This series highlights the facts and myths
of this urgent public health issue, and proposes solutions communities
can put into practice.

Institute of Medicine, in association with the Centers for Disease
Control and Prevention, the National Institutes of Health, and the
Michael & Susan Dell Foundation.
